(House of Representatives--Secret Session.). PROPOSITION OF FINANCE. Top of 1st page: House of Representatives, January 11, 1864.--Ordered to be printed. [By Mr. Garnett.] Single leaf printed and folded to make 4p., double-spaced, bears the oval Rebel Archives stamp (faint but fully legible), irregularly creased (perhaps of paperstock in the printery), mild marginal toning and edgewear with a bit of dirt on the terminal page and a dot from impurity in the stock, good. Parrish & Willingham entry unfound. Commences: "I. That for two months, from and after the passage of this act, treasury notes, not bearing interest, heretofore issued, shall be receivable in payment of public dues at the rate of five dollars for one dollar due" &c &c. This Confederate Imprint is one of more than 100 recently acquired, most with 'Rebel Archives' stamp on the cover, indicating that these were the actual copies seized by the Union Army at the end of the Civil War. Regular shipping by USPS Media Mail is $4. MEDIA MAIL SHIPPING DOES NOT INCLUDE TRACKING.
