PSALM XIX

PSALM XIX

Some loves are never meant to become ours.

They remain unfinished, yet somehow become the stories that shape us most.

Psalm XIX is a collection of poems born from the ruins of one-sided love: the longing of wanting someone who may never be yours, the jealousy you have no right to feel, the memories that refuse to die, and the quiet regret of everything left unsaid.

Across its pages, love becomes something almost religious, a prayer, a heresy, a cathedral, a wound. The poems question what it means to worship someone through absence, to mistake suffering for devotion, and to slowly realize that destroying yourself is not proof that your love was real.

But this book is not only about losing someone.

It is about losing versions of yourself.

It is about the mind that turns against itself, the grief that becomes an identity, the temptation to romanticize ruin, and the difficult realization that pain does not become sacred simply because you survived it. Beneath its darkness are questions about God, fate, free will, death, memory, forgiveness, and the strange human need to find meaning in what breaks us.

Psalm XIX is for the ones who loved in silence.

For those who waited too long.

For those who confused suffering with devotion.

For those who still carry someone's name like a prayer they no longer know how to finish.

And perhaps, most of all,

for anyone who has ever had to learn that loving someone deeply should never require destroying yourself.
