Pair of mimeographed or typed cookbooks, each measuring 8.5 x 11", staple bound, with illustrated covers reading "Matsubu's House of Rice University Way Seattle 5, Wash," both six pages, one dated 1965, the other undated. Each cookbook prints a different set of recipes, with a total of 24 recipes between the two books. The recipe books promote a Chinese Restaurant in Seattle, and feature recipes by Diana Liu and Lily Tang, two Chinese-American sisters who published their "Gourmet Guide to Chinese Cuisine," also in 1965, and also in Seattle. The recipes in these booklets were taken from that publication. We are unsure if Liu and Tang were associated at all with Matsubu's House of Rice. Creasing to pages, staining to pages, chipping and tearing to cover of one booklet, ink annotations and manuscript recipes to pages.
