A G massive 4to hardcover in no dust jacket. Green decorated end papers. Moisture-related brown staining along the edges of the front matters (XVI pp.) and the first few leaves of text. By page 7, however, the text (394 pp.) and the following plates (LXXXIV), are free of evidence of moisture exposure and aside from a smudge or two and a bit of age tanning to non-plate leaves, appear clean, complete and securely bound. The pages' top and bottom edges have light stain lines near the spine. Sturdy black cloth boards with still bright gilt spine lettering. The boards have some light scuffing and soiling, and the spine has a number of rubbing (?) specks that are not light but not as black as the covers. There is also a sense the boards have had some moisture exposure but aside from a barely discernible area of exposure on the lower board, it is hard to detect as any bowing or warping is quite minimal and there is no book mold or similar condition.
