This stated first edition with full number line has boards bound in red cloth with straight edges and pointed corners. Spine is uncreased with gold gilt lettering and straight edges. Text block is square with foxed top edge. Binding is firm. 376p. Interior is unmarked with crisp white pages including b/w illustrations and diagrams through out. Glossy black Dust Jacket is unclipped with handling wear present of surface scratches and creased edges and corners. Yellow and Red lettering is bold. Overall remains a great copy. About the Author:
Humphrey Jennings was educated in Cambridge at school and at Pembroke College, where he read English. He joined the GPO Film Unit in 1934. In 1936 he, Tom Harrisson and Charles Madge founded Mass Observation, and in the same year he exhibited at the International Surrealist Exhibition. He is best known for the documentary films he made during the war. He died in 1950.
