Time period covered includes 1906 `Little Nemo in Slumberland' to 1973 `Annikki' - Sadoul actually looks at the art form in four historical periods. While many of the examples of comic strips reviewed are Italian or French (some of which have crossed-over into English -e.g. Barbarella p. 96) there are NO SHORTAGE of American examples: Mickey Mouse, Blonde Phantom and Freak Brothers for three examples.On average, every page has an illustration. Cond: Colour illus. paper wrapper with Peanuts, Isabella, Spirou and Zap featured. Binding is starting at page 121 and 56. Otherwise CLEAN, tight and bright w/o flaws!!
