Bound in full blue cloth with decorative silver lettering on the spine and silver illustration on the front cover, deckled fore-edge pages and red publisher's topstain. 362 pages plus a 1963 Detroit Lions roster and 16 pages of black and white photographs. Boards show moderate wear, binding is firm. The interior is clean with no markings of any kind. The unclipped dustjacket shows original $5.95 price, coded "1066" -- the month and year of the publication. The jacket has wear at extremities and a crease on the spine. Now protected in a clear archival mylar cover. "Professional football - as it looks to a first-string writer trying out as a last-string quarterback." Basis for the 1968 movie with Alan Alda and Alex Karras. Carefully packaged and shipped in a sturdy cardboard box.
