About the Author

Clarence Barnes was born to a single mother who suffered from mental illness, and he grew up in group and foster homes, as well as gang communities. It was an unspeakably difficult upbringing, and much harm was done to him-by others and by himself. But he has come to realize that all of these experiences were a gift that forced him to grow in order to overcome each difficulty, forming him into the person he is today.

This philosophy-that conflict is a gift-is the basis of his deeply spiritual, dark fantasy novel, War. It explores the human condition and the energies of the universe through the lives of lonely individuals and an angel who has joined the human race in order to learn about the power of pain and emotions.
