Elle (Paperback)

Paperback. "I drink an orange juice while looking at the champagne, then I drink the champagne so it'll stop staring at me."Since the loss of their baby-whose belongings Chris packed away at the very back of a closet in his relentless drive to move on-Elle has been fading away, hunting for inspiration at the bottom of her vodka bottles. She spends her days locked in her studio, slowly transforming their apartment into a permanent courtroom. Cornered by paranoia and terrified of abandonment, she pushes away the man she loves with a desperate cruelty.A transgressive dual-perspective novel, Elle is an asymmetrical plunge into the ravages of addiction, the things left unsaid, and the collapse of a couple in the face of loss.
