Simon Patrick?s The Parable of the Pilgrim was first issued in the late 17th century and became a respected work of Anglican devotion. Patrick, known for his practical religious writing, created this narrative as a symbolic account of a Christian?s progress through faith and trial. This London edition, printed for Richard Chiswell in 1687, is the sixth and among the more desirable early issues. It includes the engraved frontispiece often found in Chiswell?s theological imprints. Condition: Very Good; full leather binding tight and secure, moderate rubbing to corners, pages toned but clean, text complete. Format: Octavo (8vo), single volume.
