The Paradox

From international award-winning poet and author Jiya Doshi comes "The Paradox," a collection about contradiction. About love and hate. About wanting and forgetting. About leaving and staying.

You know the feeling. The one you never said out loud. The one you never could find a name for.

And when you run out of names, you're left choosing,

Deciding which one is worth letting go, losing,

Two versions of yourself, your heart or your mind,

Making invisible prisons in which you are confined,

Either way, a paradox, either way, you,

Losing either way and never knowing who.

The worst part about a Paradox is you'll never know whether what you chose was right.

But what if you didn't have to choose?

"The Paradox" is the book for the you who dared to hold on even when all your fingers wanted to let go, the draft you didn't send, the version of you that cried and then said "I'm fine." Jiya Doshi writes contradiction like she's lived every one of them, because she has - and still does.

Short, confessional, and built for rereading, "The Paradox" doesn't resolve contradiction. It sits inside it, and stays there with you.

Jiya Doshi returns with her most confessional work yet. Her writing has earned her recognition on The Times of India's #UNSTOPPABLE21, the 21st Century Emily Dickinson Award for Poetry, and the title of "Face of Contemporary Literature" by FoxStory India.

"Honest, vulnerable, and full of feeling." - Ashley Tweed, bestselling author of Angel Waves.

"Poetry that lives, breathes, and keeps you hooked, line by line." - Bryan Austin, Bestselling Author of Paper Stars: Poetry for Life, and Longing.
