Paragraph Against Conscience

Where does legitimate law end and institutional arbitrariness begin? Law is necessary for social order. But when a written norm is divorced from conscience, it ceases to serve justice and turns into an instrument of coercion. The problem lies in identifying the boundary beyond which legal order becomes arbitrary rule. The Paragraph Against Conscience examines this balance across fifteen historical stages: from the trial of the Athenian generals and Socrates to modern digital algorithms. This work analyzes the friction between the letter of the law and ethical responsibility, and the price an individual pays to maintain their own judgment.
