A very scarce translation of this anonymously published Greek text that for many years was falsely attributed to Andronicus Rhodius. The work explores the Nicomachean Ethics of Aristotle and, as the title suggests, comments on an paraphrases the original work. Aristotle's work originally consisted of 10 volumes, and is widely considered one of the most influential and important philosophical works. Translated from the Greek by William Bridgman. With an ink inscription to the title page that reads, 'From the Translator'. A very scarce work. Rebacked. In a full cloth binding. Externally, sound. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and also to the extremities. Minor loss to the extremities of the front and boards. Tide marks to the rear board. Spots to the fore edge. Reinforced to the front and rear hinges. Bookplate to the front pastedown of Lancashire Independent College Library. Some handling marks and the occasional spot, to the front and rear pastedown and endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean, with some spotting and the occasional handling mark, heavier to the first and last pages. Small tide mark to the tail of pages 147 through to 163.
