Reviews
Its title suggests that this book gives equal treatment to all the service academies. In reality, only the U.S. Naval Academy is discussed in depththe author's son attended that institution from 1978 to 1982. Information about the other four schools is included, along with 42 photographs (not seen by the reviewer). Powers describes, in a folksy manner, how her son gained admission, his life at the academy, parents' clubs, graduation, etc. Future applicants to the service academies, especially Annapolis, as well as their parents may enjoy reading about Powers's experences. Not essential. Leonard Grundt, Nassau Community Coll. Lib., Garden City, N.Y.
