Tom Couser is a veteran of forty years of working with teenagers and their parents. He hold both a bachelors and masters degree from Concordia University - Chicago. He is certified as both a director of Christian education (DCE) and as a school counselor. He served churches in Missouri, Illinois and Texas as a youth director and DCE. His last full-time position was as a school counselor at a private Christian high school in Dallas. In that position he worked with students experiencing behavioral, academic and personal issues. He also developed a mediation program within the school, training students how to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. He addition to free-lance writing and doing workshops for teens and parents, in his retirement he works part-time as a hospital chaplain. Tom has been married to his wife, Barb, for forty years. Barb is a church musician and worship leader. They have been blessed with three children, all of whom are in full-time ministry. They also have three grandsons. In his spare time Tom enjoys reading, working in the yard and following Major League Baseball and the NASCAR circuit.
