Written by two nurses and a pharmacist, this is an excellent reference source covering all aspects of drug treatment of children and adolescents. The authors include detailed instructions on administering medicines to all age groups, as well as clear discussions of how medicines act in the child, immunizations, and using medicines wisely. The main part of the book is arranged by parts of the body and the drugs used in their treatment. There is an emphasis on nonprescription drugs, and each entry covers brand names, side effects, contraindications, and proper storage. The final section discusses commonly used prescription drugs.
