Holding a doctor of education degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Dr. LeGette has spent many years in the Burlington City Schools System in North Carolina as a high school English teacher, guidance counselor, system-wide Coordinator of Performance Appraisal, Director of Staff Development, and Associate Superintendent for Administration. She has received awards both as a teacher and an administrator.

Dr. Legette resides in Burlington, North Carolina.
