About the Author
Louise Latremouille never dreamed of becoming an author. It was the instant popularity of her first book, which grew out of the notes she wrote to her own parents when they inherited their first computer, that changed her life forever. In 2002 Louise was living in Nova Scotia, a continent away from her parents in British Columbia when her father was diagnosed with lung cancer. They were happy to get a computer, but frightened and frustrated by the learning curve. That's when Louise started writing them notes. When her father suggested she organize them into a book, My Parents First Computer and Internet Guide was born. Louise, not a computer expert, was working for the post office delivering mail at the time. She printed up 20 copies of her book and placed them at the local drug store. It shocked her when a week later they called and asked for more. She printed up 100 and figured that should take care of anyone still struggling with computer basics. A couple weeks and the store called and asked for more! Friends were telling friends about this unusual and simple book and coming from away to get it. She printed up 200, then 500, then 1000... Learned about ISBN's and publishing. When readers emailed and asked for "the next book", she was shocked again; it was something she had not even considered. She wrote My Parents Second Computer and Internet Guide to give readers what they asked for - something a little beyond the basics. That was the beginning of what has become a series of easy beginner computer books, all written with her parents in mind. Her father lost his battle with lung cancer in 2003. In his honor Louise gives part of her sales to cancer research and patient care. Find a cure.
