Thick octavo. iv, 960pp. Illustrated with ten colored plates, which includes a color frontispiece and also an engraved pictorial half-title page. Names of E.A. Rogers of New Orleans, Mary Louise Rogers of California, and a third individual on the second front flyleaf with births and deaths of their relatives recorded on the rear free endpaper. Quarter calf diced-cloth boards with a pinkish hue and gilt decoration and lettering on the spine. Boards and spine are worn particularly along the edges, fading and soiling to the boards, a torn piece of paper affixed to the pastedown, endpapers soiled, and foxing throughout, good or better with the hinges remaining tight and sound.
