About the Author
Christienna Fryar (Contributor) Christienna Fryar is a historian of modern Britain, the British Empire, and the modern Caribbean. She has taught these subjects at universities in the United States and Britain, including the University of Liverpool, SUNY Buffalo State and Duke University. Originally from Virginia, she is currently a lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London where she convenes the MA in Black British History, the first taught masters' programme of its kind in the United Kingdom. In 2020 Fryar was named a BBC New Generation Thinker and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio.
