The Partially Examined Life

In the tradition of Platonic dialog and Socratic self-examination, it's a often hilarious, always thought-provoking journey across the world of philosophy, from Ancient China to modern Kentucky and all points in between. Inspired by the popular, long-running podcast, and containing an elite selection of the best episodes from the past 15 years, including celebrity guests such as Lucy Lawless and Dr. Drew, philosophical heavyweights such as Peter "Animal Liberation" Singer and Patricia Churchland, and non-western texts such as Ibn Sina, under-represented philosophers, such as bell hooks, and topics from Race and Religion to Art, the Free Market and the Nature of Reality. Complete with entertaining illustrations, never-before-seen photos and original essays, it is perfect for the beginning philosopher or the expert, as well as for hardcore fans and complete newcomers.
