Partners in Spirit: What Couples Say About Marriages that Work

Contrary to popular opinion - and no shortage of media attention reinforcing negative perceptions - the institution of marriage can be a "fortress for well-being" against even the most challenging circumstances of life. Just ask Heather Cardin, author of Partners in Spirit: What Couples Say About Marriages That Work, who interviewed more than forty successful couples for their thoughts about their marriage experiences and what made their relationships thrive. Through this collection of interesting and in many ways familiar stories, Cardin discovered that a majority of them believe that spirituality is perhaps the most important component of marriage success.

Heather Cardin completed her B.A. and B.Ed. at the University of Saskatchewan in the 1980s and received a Master of Arts in English from Carleton University in Ottawa in 2005. She has taught in public and private schools since 1978. She and her husband Bernie have three grown children.
