Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Leslie B. DeMille studied art at New York's venerable Art Students League. He married his childhood sweetheart, Isobel, and raised a family of five. In 1958, they moved to southern California.
Leslie is listed in Who's Who in American Art and Directory of International Biographies. He hosted the PBS-TV series "Portraits in Pastels" and authored a book by the same name. Leslie is a member of numerous professional organizations. He has judged major art shows and taught portrait and still life painting in seminars and workshops across the country.
Throughout his career, Leslie has received prestigious commissions, including portraits of presidents and movie stars. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Navy Combat Art Museum in Washington, D.C., and is represented in galleries in Scottsdale and Wickenburg, Arizona, and Laguna Beach, California.
