Every new generation of pastors has its own minefield to tiptoe through and obstacles to overcome. Some of today's pastors take them pretty much in stride but would welcome help from others in shouldering the load that's inherent in ministry. At the other end of the spectrum, we find pastors who are running on empty–out of gas, both emotionally and spiritually.
All of today's pastors would like to confide in someone who can give them realistic, practical help and guidance based on firsthand experience––the kind found in Pastors At Greater Risk!
From Focus on the Family's H. B. London, Jr., and Dr. Neil B. Wiseman, this completely rewritten and updated edition places special emphasis on today's hot–button issues: job stress, congregational turnover, pornography, spiritual burnout and more! There are a wealth of interviews with influential pastors and other church leaders who have successfully weathered life's storms–including Dr. James Dobson, Gordon and Gail MacDonald, Jerry Bridges and Archibald Hart.
The thought–provoking chapters include "Warning: Ministry May Be Hazardous To Your Marriage," "Showcase Kids–or Stable Families?" "Flee Internet Pornography And Sexual Addiction" and "Recovery from Stress And Burnout." Result: a book that is rich in wisdom and understanding–and one that provides pastor–to–pastor help at a time when it is needed more than ever!
