Patchwork (Creative Needlecrafts)

Walmsley, Jane

These four books are uniform in format. There is a brief historical review of the craft; a description of necessary equipment; very detailed instructions for 12 to 16 projects; additional tips and techniques; and a glossary, always helpful in British books. Each book provides the novice with an adequate introduction to the craft. What sets these books apart from others of similar intent is the unremitting unattractiveness of the items illustrated. If all your needlecraft books are always in circulation, consider purchasing any of these. If usage depends on the visual appeal of the projects presented, these will sit on the shelves.
