Suzette Halferty grew up in Oregon on a produce farm near Mount Hood, where she learned from her mother to value the art of preserving. She got hooked on quilting in 1988 and has been quilting and designing ever since. Carol C. Porter was born and raised in Washington State. She has taught quiltmaking since 1988 and currently teaches a variety of classes at quilt shops around the Pacific Northwest.
