Synopsis
Just in time for Father's Day, here is a unique, beautifully designed and illustrated golf guide by a top teaching pro. In this enlightening golf parable, a tycoon who takes his game very seriously learns "quantum golf" from a farmer in Iowa, and therein lies the secret of success--on the course and in life as well.
From Library Journal
Enhager, a Swedish instructor, relates the parable of frustrated golfer John Smith, who journeys to Iowa, home of "quantum golf genius" Linc St. Clair in a desperate search to remedy his flagging game. St. Clair recommends employing the teachings of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, a proponent of transcendental meditation, in combination with quantum theory physics in order to present the ultimate mental/physical approach to the game. Smith ponders recommendations like "Inhale on the backswing, say 'super,' then upon exhalation say 'fluid.' " For deeper understanding, author Enhager recommends Deepak Chopra's Quantum Healing (Bantam, 1989) and Robert Roth's Transcendental Meditation (Donald I. Fine, 1987), while the Maharishi suggests the Bhagavad-Gita , with translation and commentary. In the last scenario, St. Clair applauds as Smith scores a hole in one. Recommended for libraries needing offbeat golf material.
