It is an enigmatic book with its tantalizing views of an eternal future world. It will merit readers¹ serious consideration. The author, Ou Wenwei, who is a famous Qigong Master, believes that as their understanding of this book increases, people will become more and more healthy and happy. Read this mysterious book with a calm and peaceful mind, the chances are you will discover something new and interesting. You might find, for example, descriptions of an eternal, wonder-filled future world more colorful and carefully reasoned than those in other books you have read. Probably you cannot even imagine how wonderful such a world could be; just reading about it might intoxicate you and leave you eagerly anticipating its coming.
After intensively studying ancient Chinese ways of preserving health, in 1990 Master Ou, in order to enable practitioners to absorb the life force of the universe and to temper and improve their own life force and immune systems, created Pan Mystical Qigong, based on the physiology of the human body and the miraculous relationship between man and nature. Since then, Pan Gu Mystical Qigong has successfully treated many patients with ailments such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, apoplexy, lupus erythematosus, and others.
Master Ou has also expended much effort in applying Pan Gu Mystical Qigong toward scientific research. In 1997, with the Guangzhou Ministry of Public Security, he took part in a study involving the effect of qigong therapy in the treatment of addictions in humans; the next year with the cooperation of the First Military Medical University of China he did the same for addictions in animals. All of this research demonstrated Pan Gu Mystical Qigong’s effectiveness in stopping drug addiction.
As an author Ou Wen Wei has five books to his credit: The Path of Life (in three volumes), Pan Gu Mystical Qigong, Farewell My Soul, Chanting at the chrysanthemum garden, and Flowers of Kindness and Beauty. His research paper, “Qigong Is a Special Knowledge that Has Both Material and Spiritual Characteristics,” was awarded a grand prize by the First International League of Somatic Scientists Conference, held in the United States in 1995. His other papers, “Preliminary Research into the Treatment of Drug Addiction with Pan Gu Mystical Qigong,” “A Discussion of the Essential Quality and Intrinsic Features of Qigong Based on the Relationship between Energy and Matter,” “The Nature and Role of Qi in the Human Body,” and “The Harmony between Heaven, Earth, and Man,” were selected for the Theses Collection of the Fourth World Academic Society of Medical Qigong in 1998; in addition he was awarded a Certificate of Merit for his “earnest effort to popularize medical qigong.”
As a calligrapher Master Ou has held, beginning in 1994, four large qigong calligraphy exhibitions in Guangzhou, south China’s most populous city. Each exhibition was attended by more than 10,000 visitors.
Due to Master Ou’s outstanding contributions to society, his biography is included in Who’s Who in the World, published by the World Cultural and Arts Research Center. He also received the award of Qigong Master of the Year from both the Fourth World Congress on Qigong and the Fourth American Qigong Association Conference in 2001.
