Synopsis
The Book of Bamidbar is the fourth book of the Five Books of Moses. Volume 8 of Path to the Light includes Rav Berg's commentary on the portions of: Bamidbar, Naso, Beha'alotcha, Shlach Lecha, and Korach. These portions are not the intrigues of a nation, but instead describe the energetic machinations of the physical world: how, where, and when to capture energy; how to navigate and transform darkness into Light; how to protect ourselves from danger as well as know where it lurks; and ultimately how to garner the force to win the ultimate war against our own limitations and self-destructive temptations. Rav Berg tells us again and again that the Bible is not a history book nor is it an allegory of our lives; the Torah is an arsenal of spiritual tools: specific letters and sequences that provide us with the spiritual energy to fortify and strengthen our spiritual work in this dimension of life. This understanding and wisdom about the metaphysical nature of the universe was once only known by a few kabbalists throughout history. Now, because of the efforts and teachings of Rav Berg-as he removes the covering that kept the Bible and its tools concealed for centuries-each and every person can fulfill their destiny and achieve a life of happiness and mastery over the physical terrain.
About the Author
Rav Berg was born August 20, 1927, in New York City. After many years of traditional religious study, he was ordained as a rabbi at Torah VaDaat. A businessman who wanted to make a difference in this world, he was always searching for his true path. Upon a chance meeting with Rav Yehuda Brandwein, Rav Berg knew he had found his teacher, and moved to Israel to study with Rav Brandwein at The Kabbalah Centre. After he returned to New York, Rav Berg maintained a written correspondence with Rav Brandwein who passed on his legacy as Director of The Kabbalah Centre to Rav Berg. Rav Berg made it his mission to continue editing, writing, printing, and distributing all that he learned from his teacher and began sharing the secrets of Kabbalah texts, which historically had been reserved for scholars. His book, Kabbalah for the Layman, was the revolutionary step that made Kabbalah accessible to every person. Rav Berg's other books include The Kabbalah Connection, Wheels of a Soul: Kabbalah and Reincarnation, To the Power of One, Energy of the Hebrew Letters, Immortality, Nano, The Kabbalah Method, Taming Chaos, and Education of a Kabbalist. Together with his wife, Karen, Rav Berg opened the doors of The Kabbalah Centre to all who desire to learn this universal wisdom. Rav Berg left the world in September 2013, and Karen Berg departed in July 2020. Following their passing, their son Michael Berg continues their vision and their work as the Director of The Kabbalah Centre.
