The Path of the Seer: Norse Magic, Prophecy, and the Arts of Seidr and Spa

The Path of the Seer: Norse Magic, Prophecy, and the Arts of Seidr and Spa by Tobias Wolfsberg peels back the veil on a hidden dimension of ancient Germanic spirituality. Perfect for those intrigued by Northern folklore, runic mysteries, or the revitalization of ancestral magics, this meticulously researched work uncovers how seidr—the art of shaping fate—and spa—the power of prophetic vision—have endured from the Viking Age to the present day. Drawing on sagas, medieval chronicles, archaeological findings, and firsthand accounts of modern practitioners, Wolfsberg reveals how individuals once wove spells on windswept shores, peered into destiny’s tapestry, and communicated with spirits in fireside gatherings. Beyond mythic tales of gods and warriors, The Path of the Seer sheds light on the everyday miracle of living magic, guiding readers toward a deeper understanding of its contemporary relevance.

From examining glimpses of volur (wand-carrying prophetesses) and their trance-induced rites, to tracing how these arts survived in rural folk practices and now resonate in today’s Neo-Pagan and Heathen circles, The Path of the Seer offers an intimate look at a practice both powerful and subtle. Whether you yearn to explore the threads of fate yourself, seek to honor your ancestral roots, or simply long for a deeper connection to nature’s hidden rhythms, this book illuminates how seidr and spa can transform one’s perspective on both everyday life and the mystic beyond. Join Tobias Wolfsberg on a journey through half-forgotten lore, living tradition, and the compelling promise that destiny’s door stands open—waiting for the seer’s hand to reach for the latch.
