Read this story not only as an adventure, but as a guide for success when encouraging a special child in life. Jaden is a perfect little girl who is challenged by some of life's daily happenings; she cannot stand loud noises, or crowds of people. She wants to be a star, just like her sister, but she cannot keep her balance when she is riding a pony. As you will read, she needs some help to overcome her challenges. Author Lin Edmonds tells a great story, but also shows how Jaden refocuses her attention, and is able to gain ground on her challenges in life. SPIN (Special Parents Information Network) helps children with special needs achieve their full potential by empowering their families, and the professionals who serve them through information, support and resources. SPIN says: Patric the Pony and the Shining Star is a great read for all children and their families, but it is especially pertinent to those children who are autistic, who need support and encouragement, doing what we consider to be the easy tasks of life.
