Ex library - Dewey sticker at top of back cover; stamps on inside front and back inside cover page and title page; due date slip, cardboard envelope, and sticker on back inside cover.
Ingmar Bjorksten, Swedish critic and novelist, met Patrick White at White's home at Castle Hill in 1962. Bjorksten was so impressed by White's work that he campaigned to increase his international reputation. Bjorksten's efforts were influential in securing the Nobel Prize for Literature for Patrick White in 1973. The critical study by Bjorksten, written in Swedish, 'Patrick White: epikern fran Australien' ('Patrick White: A General Introduction') was published in the same year.
