Limited Edition. #185/800-450 were made for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and 350 for the United States. This appears to be one of the 450 for Great Britton and Ireland, as London is in gilt at the bottom of the spine. Engraved frontis and 11 full page images-as called for- plus additional illustrations (120) throughout the text by Maurice Leloir. The leafs with full page illustrations are not included in the page count. Three quarter red leather with marbled boards. Gilt titles & decoration on spine with five raised bands. Top edge gilt. Decorative endpapers. xxvii, 208 pp. Approx. 7.75" x 11.25". Very Good Condition. Please examine photos closely. Covers show edge wear, with loss of leather at tips. The bottom tips are also bumped. Rubbing/some loss to top & bottom edges. Binding is firm. Age toning to endpapers, foxing to first few pp. Moderate age darkening to page edges; otherwise text is clean, well preserved.
