Pause: What I Found When I Decided to Stop

PAUSE: What I Found When I Decided to Stop is a deeply personal, refreshingly honest memoir about what becomes visible when we finally slow down long enough to see it.

After decades of sprinting through a demanding career, raising a family, chasing expectations, and measuring too much of life by productivity, marketing executive Karin Giffney began to pause. But the pauses themselves weren't the revelation. What she discovered in them was.

With humor, humility, and disarming honesty, Karin shares the stories, missteps, losses, relationships, and unexpected moments that challenged what she believed about success, time, worth, perfection, and what it means to live a meaningful life. From the chaos of balancing career and family to profound encounters with strangers, lessons in leadership, and the quiet wisdom of loons on a Northern Wisconsin lake, ordinary moments begin to reveal extraordinary truths.

The pause simply created the space for clarity to notice patterns, question assumptions, listen differently, and recognize lessons that had been there all along.

Poignant, playful, and deeply human, PAUSE is not a how-to book or a prescription for slowing down. Karin offers companionship rather than instruction, openly sharing her failures alongside her discoveries and inviting readers to consider what might become clearer in their own lives if they stopped long enough to notice.

For anyone who has ever felt swept along by the pace of life, wondered when "enough" would finally feel like enough, or questioned the stories we've been told about success, PAUSE offers something more lasting than rest: the possibility of seeing your life and yourself with greater clarity.
