About this Item
FIRST EDITION, a few faint spots to prelims, pp. 288, crown 8vo, original blue cloth, backstrip lettered in gilt, some faint waterstaining to lower board, top edge blue, near-contemporary (wartime) ownership inscription to flyleaf, small mark to gutter of rear endpapers, dustjacket a little nicked and chipped with some light soiling, good. A book with a forthright condemnation of the Nazi regime ('Hitler is a liar [.] stirred to the depths of his shallow soul by dreams of terrorist conquest') but with the thesis that appeasement is the better option - its printed dedication ('without permission') is to 'Neville Chamberlain, Cunctator'. Uncommon in the dustjacket. Seller Inventory # 73396
