A project notebook for peace caravaners developed by Harold Chance, head of the Peace Section of the American Friends Service Committee. Published in the summer of 1941, the notebook begins with a short preface by influential Quaker Rufus Jones followed by quotes from Rupert Brooke and Muriel Lester. 13 suggested projects are outlined on p. 2 and then developed in detail over the following pages. These include I. Community Survey and Record II. Publicity Project III. Radio Project IV. Literature Project V. Meetings Project VI. Dramatic Project VII. Pacifist Project VIII. General Study Project IX. Community Service Project X. Community Organization Project XI. Finance Project XII. Conference Project and XIII. Issues in American Public Opinion. Chance concludes with a poem by Irish nationalist Padraig Pearse. Brad-found folder, 55 leaves mimeographed on rectos only. Small closed tear along the top edge of the front cover. Not found separately catalogued in WorldCat, although a copy exists in Chance s papers at Swarthmore.
