A newly married set of four volumes in two that published after the four volume first authorized American edition in olive cloth by the same publisher. In blue cloth and bright gilt. Top pages tinted blue, others tanned. Volume one has spots worn through at corners and spine ends with nicks and small chips. Small marks/spots to boards and spine and faint foxing to endpapers. Name and date to front pastedown. A little separation at title page starting with glue reattachment repair to ffep and page following, otherwise solid. Volume two has light fraying/nicks to spine ends and bottom corners are dinged. Some spotting/pigment loss to boards. Bookplate to plain paper front pastedown. Endpapers tanned with moisture stain to top page ends near corner and top half of front page ends. Early Printing.
