Sir Robert Douglas, the 6th Baronet of Glenbervie, was a noted genealogist who wrote Baronage of Scotland, a well regarded piece of research in a time when information relating to the ruling class was not often made available. It was updated and expanded into these two volumes by John Philip Wood roughly half a century later.
