Peggy Zehring 70 Years of Inventions on Paper & Canvas

Peggy Zehring's 70 Years of Inventions on Paper & Canvas is an artist monograph built around a life spent listening to what art reveals before the conscious mind can explain it. Beginning with Origins, the painting that won Zehring a Kansas State Fair blue ribbon at sixteen, the book follows her work across seven decades of visual art, from early self-portraits to symbolic constructions, mixed media painting, and expansive modern abstract art.

Zehring's creative process is unusually personal. She meditates, practices tai chi, and has even painted blindfolded so images can surface without being over-directed. That approach gives her intuitive painting the feeling of discovery: dreams reappear, symbols take shape, and each work becomes a form of self-expression through art.

Readers will encounter:

• • original artwork spanning 1957 through the 2020s
  • colorful abstract art shaped by circles, energy, ritual, and transformation
  • recurring themes of Reiki, chi, kundalini, breath, darkness, restoration, and enlightenment
  • a mixed media artist moving between expressive art, spiritual art, meditation art, and abstract expressionism
  • reflections on artistic inspiration, dream symbolism art, and the role of the unconscious

For admirers of an abstract artist or contemporary artist working outside rigid formulas, this creativity book offers something more intimate than a standard fine art collection. It is an inspirational art book and collectible art book about originality, trust, growth, and the courage to let the work lead. It invites readers to see art as an evolving conversation between memory, instinct, imagination, and inner life
