Penguin Modern Poets 12

Vintage Penguin First Edition. #D107. Penguin Modern Poets 12 brings together three forceful, boundary-pushing voices whose work reflects the raw energy and experimentation of the late 1960s. Alan Jackson’s poems blend candour, social observation and a restless, street-level immediacy that feels both personal and political. Jeff Nuttall contributes jagged, provocative pieces shaped by countercultural rebellion, performance art and a determination to disrupt polite literary expectations. William Wantling adds a hard-edged, confessional intensity drawn from his experiences as a veteran and ex-convict, creating poems that are spare, direct and emotionally charged. As a volume it captures three uncompromising poetic temperaments at a moment of cultural upheaval.
