Penny The Pup Presents The Power of Real Food

How do you get your kids to eat their vegetables? Have an adorable puppy tell them why they're so important!

In this colorful picture book, Penny the Pup takes kids on an adventure from blah to aha as she discovers the power of real foods. Join Penny the Pup as she explains in kid-friendly terms what cells need to survive and thrive, where real foods come from, and how important it is to stop and think about what you eat and drink.

Next time you go to eat, just think...

What is really in this food and this drink?

Try to eat and drink real ingredients that you know,

That's what your cells need to go, go, go!

This book hits so many things that make kids fall in love with books - it has real information, endearing illustrations, and rhyming text - and it gives parents, educators, and doctors the much needed stepping stone to address the processed food issues plaguing our world by reinforcing the power of real foods.

Kimberly is a national board certified teacher who has the honor of working with the littlest learners in Delaware. Originally from New Jersey, she is married to her high school sweetheart, Josh, and is the proud fur mama of Penny the pup. When she isn't teaching she loves exploring new places, reading anything and everything, gardening and being outside, and making (and eating!) ice cream. The Penny the Pup series came as a result of Kim's own journey in health. Kim is a triplet who has had her fair share of health issues since she was born, including several severe food allergies. Once she almost entirely reversed her food allergies by improving her nutrition, sleep, and stress, she realized she wished she knew how powerful nutrition, sleep, and mental health were from a young age. After watching the struggles of her littlest learners and seeing how much they love anecdotes about Penny, she was inspired to create stories told by Penny that would put health in simple terms so kids of all ages could be inspired to live a healthy lifestyle from a young age. Penny, the pup behind the book, is a Goldendoodle who absolutely loves life. She enjoys crunching carrots, tending to her garden (you can find her sitting by it daily!), being outside (the crazier the weather the better!), giving hugs, demanding belly rubs, chasing bubbles, and bringing you things to show how much she loves you (such as Mom and Dad's socks).
