People, Professionalism, And Logistics Performance An Experiment In Public Ownership: The UK National Freight Corporation 1947-1982

The book looks at the UK nationalised road haulage and transport industry, from 1947 to pre-privatisation form in 1982, and eventually integration with the world’s biggest logistics operator. The historical context is examined, and the influential dynamics of the management techniques and systems, organisational processes and procedures, and especially the people values, that influenced the NFC business prior to its successful and pioneering (and only) UK management employee buy-out (MEBO) in 1982.
