Synopsis
Sometimes people like some things that you don’t think are fun.
But that’s okay, if what they like’s not hurting anyone.
If somebody loves something and that thing is not for you,
then just be glad they’ve found the thing they really love to do!
There’s things people can teach you, and lots that you can show them.
They make the world more interesting, if you just get to know them!
Let People Like Things! is a celebration of the differences that make each person who they are. With an important message to today's kids – that people don't all have to be the same, or like the same things, in order to find common ground, get along, and be friends.
In this rhyming story, we meet a series of very different, unique characters, each with a diverse range of interests, looks, and ways of doing things. Though they may not see eye-to-eye on everything, they still choose to be friends, by celebrating each other's unique identities and focusing on the areas of life where their interests do overlap.
This colourful book leaves the young reader with the overarching message that it's the uniqueness of each person that not only makes them who they are, but also makes the world more interesting when it's full of different friends. Its message is one of inclusion, diversity, acceptance, friendship and people being themselves while letting others be who they authentically are.
Let People Like Things! – like all Turtlebird Books – is intended to inspire kindness and wonder in children, through rhyme and colourful, enchanting artwork.
