The Perfect Balance

This book is both a gentle and powerful reminder of the role we play here and now, as the heirs of those who came before us.

It goes beyond the future of dog breeding: it calls on us to live our time with awareness, to become thoughtful and responsible stewards of a legacy shaped by knowledge, instinct, and the choices of past generations.

Within these pages is a celebration of the beauty and functionality of the dog — particularly the sighthound, a breed close to the authors’ hearts. But beyond a love for a specific dog, this is a book about a deeper ideal: profound respect for what a dog truly is, beyond elegance or appearance.

Each sighthound carries within it a story of resilience, of adaptation, of instincts passed down through time and blood. The true beauty of this and every breed lies in the unbroken thread that connects it to the past — to the very qualities that enabled it to survive and thrive.

This is a journey of understanding: how every breeding decision becomes a vital piece in the living history of a breed. It is an invitation to pause and reflect on what we wish to preserve and protect.

Not a nostalgic work, but a thoughtful, respectful exploration — one that urges us to look to the future with open eyes, and a heart in tune with the past.
