A Perfect Day in Lebanon (Paperback or Softback)

This beautifully illustrated watercolor book takes young readers on an enchanting adventure around Lebanon, a stunning mountainous country on the Mediterranean Sea. The journey begins in Beirut with a Lebanese breakfast of fool and a manoushe and continues through various cities and landmarks, concluding with a traditional dinner of kibbeh, warak enab, and hummus.

The book highlights Lebanon's rich history, from ancient Phoenician cities like Tyre, Sidon, and Byblos to modern landmarks such as the Pigeon Rock and the Cedars of God. As each page is turned, children will discover the hidden treasures of this small yet beautiful country, including trips to historic sites like the Roman ruins in Baalbek and Beiteddine Palace.

Designed for ages 3-8, this book will ignite imaginations and spark conversations about what an ideal day in Lebanon might look like.

This book was written and illustrated by Mona Mortazavi, who drew inspiration for A Perfect Day in Lebanon from her many childhood summers spent there. Some of her favorite memories include breakfasts at her grandparents' home in Beirut and playing in her family's village garden.

As a mother, Mona believes that stories can build bridges, spark imagination, and create a sense of belonging. She hopes this book inspires children to dream up their own perfect day in Lebanon — and brings joy to anyone who holds Lebanon close to their heart.
