A political treatise written by Philip Joseph Graf von Gallas (1703-1757), a well-known Czech aristocrat, with the assistance of the theologian Karl Lorenz Brückner (1673-1755). Pages are decorated with beautiful initials, headpieces and tailpieces. Pages unnumbered; library copies have more pages than this copy although no pages seem to be missing. Full title and subtitle: "Perfecta Dies Principis ex Angelico Divi Thomae Aqvitatis Opusculo de Eruditione et Regimine Principum in Austriacorum Augustissimae Domus Principum Perfecte Gestorum ac Dictorum Apotheosi Dudum Sacerrime Expresso Per Duodenam Horarum Imitabilium Didascaliam Ethico Compendio Mensurata ; Eique Universa Aristotelica Philosophia In Praecipuis Scholasticorum Controvesijs Thomisticae Decempedae Indice Demonstratis Per non inutilem ad Altiores Principe Dignas Disciplinas Mantissam Humillime Subordinata, Et primae Sangvinem Nobilem Decenti Luci Eruditiori Exposita." /// Parchment binding with coloured edges and endpapers; hardback, [568] pp., 4° (21 x 31 cm), parchment worn and faded, with a few brown/yellow spots and traces of dust, back board has a few tiny perforations and a (barely visible) note written with pen, corners slightly bumped, starting hinge, spine slightly cracked (but binding still tight), leaves 1-3 are slightly worn, partly detached and slightly chipped (probably bookworm traces; text not affected), some pages are yellowed or have a small, pale water stain on their bottom right corner, a few pages have small smudges or bookworm traces, front free endpaper has a few words written with pen, condition: good Book Language/s: Latin.
