Perfectly Patti

Perfectly Patti is an uplifting children’s book for ages 5–10 that shows kids living with an ileostomy that life can still be full of fun, adventure, and confidence. Through Patti’s everyday experiences—playing with her dog, going to the beach, camping, swinging high, snowboarding, and even reading on her belly—children learn that having an ileostomy doesn’t limit who they are or what they can do. This empowering story celebrates resilience, self-acceptance, and the message that being different doesn’t mean missing out—it means living life perfectly your own way.

For parents and caregivers: This story offers a gentle, age-appropriate way to start meaningful conversations about medical differences, confidence, and embracing life after surgery, helping children feel seen, capable, and understood.
