About the Author: Ernest Norling was born in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from Whitman College and also attended the Chicago Art Institute.
Norling once taught classes on perspective at the Burnley Art School in Seattle. He also worked as a freelance illustrator and fine artist. Commissioned to paint murals on many public buildings, he also illustrated 14 children's books.
Norling was the recipient of many awards and honors; one of his paintings was chosen to hang in the White House.
