This concise and affordable anthology is designed for use as a textbook in both undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy of language. It aims to provide a core of essential primary sources and may be used either on its own, or in conjunction with a secondary source.
Robert Stainton received his doctorate from M.I.T. in linguistics and philosophy. He is author or editor of four books, including Philosophy and Linguistics (with K. Murasugi), Knowledge and Mind (with A. Brook), and Philosophical Perspectives on Language. He is currently Professor of Philosophy and Associate Dean (Research) at The University of Western Ontario.
