571 pages, Full contemporary calf, with gilt spine, the paper is of good quality and with a little age and occasional spotting, there are 3 or 4 pages with old ink marks from a 19th century pen not severe, but noticeable. several corners tips have been turned down. The old calf is a little rubbed. Lacks all before title with small old bookseller label inside cover "From Bettison's Library Leamington". A good to very good copy of this scarce title. 12mo(duodecimo). *NOTE: Written in the style and format of the 1001 Nights with much the same purpose, a fiction with some historical truths. All told in a series of nightly stories to stop the "Ynca" as spelled on the title page, from committing suicide, unlike the Arabian Tales where Scheherezade was trying to stop the Sultan from killing her. States little is known of the Translator Humphreys, but was supposedly writing plays in the 1740's. The original writer could have been Thomas-Simon Gueullette. Rare. Seller Inventory # 2848
